J. Levine Auction & Appraisal is proud to present "Thursday at Auction" featuring "All Things Luxurious!" This high-end estate auction features quite a variety of items including designer handbags, clothing, jewelry, accessories, vintage perfumes and vanity items, mid-mod and antique furniture, historic and modern pieces, fine art, vintage and retro items, collectibles, décor, gold, silver, electronics, rare items and much more. This week we are featuring a fine painting by artist Gene Kloss, fine gold diamond jewelry, a RARE Normandie by Jean Patou perfume bottle, and a hand made 20th century burl wood dining table!
Some of the clothing and accessories are from the Living Estate of Kay Baden. Baden is a famed Interior Designer in Arizona by way of Oklahoma (Miss McAlester 1932) who made her way up the design field in the Phoenix area by working at Montgomery Ward and began setting up her own design business as early as the 1940s. She married Paul Sexson in 1959 (known for his time as Private Secretary to both AZ Governor Howard Pyle and President Herbert Hoover, among other business ventures). Both she and her husband rubbed elbows with politicos and socialites such as the Wrigleys, the Goldwaters and Rene Cushman (daughter of artist Viktor Scharf). Baden was a trendsetter, opening shop at the Biltmore Fashion Park upon it's opening and decorated much of the Biltmore Hotel. She is a known member and former President of the prestigious ASID (American Society of American Designers). While Baden has retired into a life a leisure, her impact is felt throughout the Phoenix Valley.
The public is welcome to preview the auction Wednesday from 9AM - 5PM and Thursday beginning at 9AM. Guests are invited to mingle and preview items prior to the start of the auction at 11AM.
